Times Publications Treasure Hunt Register Now!
Treasure Hunt Logo

That’s right, the upcoming Times Treasure Hunt is going to feature a number of new twists, so pay close attention. There will be three certificates hidden somewhere in the Valley. Each certificate (one per household), once found, will entitle its finder to a key. That key will represent a one-in-seven chance at winning the $2,000.

UPDATE: The three hidden certificates have all been found. Feel free to continue looking if you like – it’s fun, we know. If the utilitarian in you won’t allow for such frivolous wastes of time, then turn your attention to the Field Day Finale on October 19, where you can still win the cash.

There will be an additional four certificates available at our Field Day Finale on Sunday, October 19, at Freestone Park in Gilbert, where the one winner will walk away with $2,000 in cash. The certificates for a one-in-seven chance for the cash can be won by participating in competitive activities at the event. Finders of the hidden certificates are also eligible to win more certificates at the Field Day Finale to increase their chances at winning the $2,000. For details on the respective events, see below.

YOU MUST REGISTER: Don’t forget that in order to compete in the events at the Field Day Finale, you must register. Space is limited, so click the Registration link to make it official.

The event will include free hot dogs, ice cream and bottled water. There will be music, a rock-climbing wall and two bounce houses for the kids. We will also be staging competitions on the basketball court for kids, including a free-throw shooting contest.

We have secured the park area between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on October 19. After registering, you will receive further instructions on when to show up and what to expect at the event. We are currently waiting to see how many sign-ups we receive and as of now SPACE IS FILLING UP! Register today to guarantee your place!

We look forward to seeing you there! If you have questions on the event, please e-mail them to contestadministrator@timespublications.com.

Good luck!

Scheduled to be held at Freestone Park in Gilbert on
October 19 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.,
this event will be fun for the entire family.

The event is free. At the event, attendees will be treated to hot dogs, ice cream and drinks. Since those under 18 will not be allowed to participate in the competitive events, there will be alternate activities provided for minors, including bounce houses, a rock wall and contests with prizes. There is also an amusement activity area located at Freestone Park near the Field Day staging area.

Events will take place at specified times (see official rules after August 22), with the final event being the opening of the treasure chest and the awarding of the $2,000 in cash.

Tricycle Race – This is an individual time-trial race where participants will navigate a giant tricycle along a preset course. The contestant with the fastest time will be declared the winner and receive Certificate #4, entitling him or her to one key and a chance to win the $2,000 in cash. The number of registrants for this event is limited, so contestants should plan to sign up early. Registration opens on August 22.

Goldfish Race – This is an event of chance, or better, the waywardness of your chosen goldfish. Contestants will each choose their very own live goldfish, which will then be placed in a half-pipe “race track.” Winners move on to subsequent rounds. The winner will receive Certificate #5, entitling him or her to one key and a chance to win the $2,000 in cash. The number of registrants for this event is limited, so contestants should plan to sign up early. Registration opens on August 22.

Flamingo Pose – This is an endurance test to see who can stand on one leg for the longest. The person able to endure the longest without putting down their second foot will be the winner and receive Certificate #6, entitling him or her to one key and a chance to win the $2,000 in cash. Should more than one contestant stand for more than two-hours, a tiebreaker will be used to declare the winner. The number of registrants for this event is limited, so contestants should plan to sign up early. Registration opens on August 22.

Open Raffle – All registered event attendees over the age of 18 will be allowed to participate in the raffle. Tickets will be distributed free of charge to attendees upon their arrival. Obtaining a raffle ticket is the sole responsibility of the attendee. No tickets will be distributed after 1:00 p.m. at the October 19th event. The Open Raffle gives everyone a chance to win the cash. The raffle will take place at a designated time and its winner will receive Certificate #7. The raffle winner must be present to win.
