In 1975 an aspiring semi-pro hockey player suffered a career-ending eye injury. Five years later he took over as representing agent for another young hockey player, Wayne Gretzky. Twelve years later he would negotiate Gretzky’s record-breaking three-year, $25.5 million deal.

Meet Mike Barnett, known within hockey as perhaps one of the most successful player agents in NHL history. Four years ago Barnett joined Gretzky in Phoenix, taking the reigns as the Phoenix Coyotes’ General Manager. Now the two hope to lead Phoenix’s young NHL team to a championship..
