open door policy
Each month Open Door Policy features the office of an influential Valley personality. During the holidays we’re reminded that money and fame are not the only means for recognition or influence.
Valley-based Food for the Hungry has provided hundreds of thousands of meals for the needy around the world since 1971. About 70 Food for the Hungry employees work at the international headquarters, right here in the Valley.
As the head of a world relief organization, Food for the Hungry President Ben Homan’s office stretches across many of the world’s poorest nations. We found him in Rwanda, Sudan, the Congo and giving aid in the aftermath of the tsunami. Just another day in the office.
Homan says his faith has been the impetus behind 34 years of building communities and feeding the needy in 47 countries. To learn more or to support Food for the Hungry, visit www.fh.org
